Check-in: from 15:00. Early check-in available if the room is ready; we will text you when it is. A guaranteed early check-in (from 12:00) is €40.
Check-out: until 11:00. Late check-out is complimentary until 14:00, subject to availability. A half-night rate applies after 14:00; a full extra night after 18:00.
Self check-in (after 22:00) is via a brass keypad at the door. Code is sent by SMS to the booking phone two hours before arrival. The night porter is on duty until 06:00.
Identification and payment
Photo ID is required on arrival (passport or EU ID card). We hold a digital scan for the duration of your stay and delete it on check-out.
We accept all major cards, EC-Karte, Apple/Google Pay, and cash (EUR only) at the front desk. Bookings without a card on file are subject to a 50% deposit at booking.
Cancellations
Flexible rate: free cancellation up to 48 hours before arrival.
Non-refundable rate: charged in full at booking, but priced ~15% below flexible.
No-show: charged for the first night.
Luggage
Free storage from 48 hours before check-in to 48 hours after check-out.
Larger items (instruments, equipment cases, bikes) — we have a small locked room with three bike hooks and four floor spots. Please mention these at booking.
Pets
Up to 2 pets per room, under 20 kg each. €30 per night per pet. Bed and water bowl provided.
Pets are welcome in the lobby and The Canteen at the front tables; not in Segfault or The Null Pointer.
Service animals are always welcome, anywhere in the building, with no fee and no questions.
Children & families
Cots (Stokke Sleepi) are complimentary, on request at booking.
Co-sleeping is permitted for children under 3.
A children's menu is available at The Canteen at all times; the kitchen will adapt portions or simplify dishes on request at Segfault.
We have a small library of children's books in German, English, and Polish at the front desk.
Accessibility
The lobby, lift, and main corridors are step-free via the Ritterstraße entrance.
Two rooms — Faraday Suite (FS-402) and Tempest Loft (TL-503) — are fully accessible with roll-in showers and emergency cords; the Tempest Loft lift access is via a service lift accessed through reception (mention at booking).
The basement workshop (where Lockpicking 101, Soldering Salon, and the sauna are held) is, regrettably, only accessible by stairs. We'll happily run any of those workshops in the ground-floor library on request.
An induction loop is fitted at the front desk and in the library.
We're a small team, and we will adapt where we can. Tell us what you need at booking.
Seasonal notes
The Rooftop Uplink runs May through September only. The roof is closed October–April.
The Signal Sauna is closed Mondays for cleaning.
The east wing (rooms KC-301 to KC-303) will be lightly renovated January 2027 — quiet hours apply during the day. Affected guests will be moved up a category at no charge.
The basement workshop is dehumidified but unheated; bring a layer in winter.
Brandenburg is at its prettiest in early May, mid-September, and the first week of December. Berlin's weather is, otherwise, opinionated.
House rules, briefly
Quiet hours from 23:00 to 07:00.
Smoking is permitted on the rooftop (in season) and in the courtyard. €250 cleaning fee for smoking in the rooms; we are sorry to be firm about this.
The paternoster in the staff stair is not for guest use. Yes, even just to look. Ask at the desk and we will give you a thorough tour.
The art is on loan; please don't touch it.
The brass switchboard in the lobby is original and may be photographed at any reasonable angle.
